Valencia CF return to El Sardinero 14 years later

The Valencia CF side will return to Cantabria this coming Sunday at 9pm and will do so to face Real Racing Club de Santander at El Sardinero. A special match, as, after 14 years, Valencia CF will play at this stadium again.

The most recent meeting between both clubs at the Racing side’s stadium was on 29 January 2012. A match that ended in a 2-2 draw, with a brace from Aritz Aduriz.

The Valencia side have faced Real Racing Club on 102 occasions, winning more than 40% of the time. As visitors, Valencia CF have recorded 11 victories. One of the curiosities is that Dani Raba will return to his ‘homeland’, while André Almeida will face his former Valencia CF teammates.

Historically, among the footballers who have worn both shirts are Sergio Canales, Nikola Zigic, Alexis Ruano and Javier Arizmendi.
